Find out ways to help the children at Bridge of Peace enjoy their Vacation Bible School
July 15-19, 2013
“Faith Alive!”
Let all that you do be done in love.
—1Corinthians 16:14
This is the theme for the VBS Day Camp at Bridge of Peace which is being sponsored by Cross Roads. They are expecting about 50 children to attend during July 15-19th.
There are many opportunities to serve and show God’s love to his children. We are looking for people to be Camp helpers such as chaperones, crafters, drivers, sandwich makers, bakers, and financial donors. Below are brief descriptions.
- Chaperones and Crafters are needed for AM and/or PM sessions July 15-19th. We will offer a ride to and from Bridge of Peace to volunteers for each “shift” all week.
- Drivers will pick-up and return volunteers from SMLC to Bridge of Peace.
- Sandwich Makers will meet on Thursday, July 18, 7pm in the Teen Den to prepare sandwiches for lunch on Friday.
- Bakers to bake either chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin cookies. Please drop them off to SMLC Sunday, July 14 (9:30am) through Thursday, July 18 (by 2pm).
If you are able to serve, please complete the back page of this insert and return it to the church office by June 30th. For questions, please contact Lisa Merrill via email or call 856.414.0273.
Financial Donors are needed to cover a child’s sponsorship and refreshments for the week.
Any gift for any amount is deeply appreciated. Please make your check payable to “Saint Matthew Lutheran Church” with Bridge of Peace in the memo.

“I am very excited about this opportunity for Saint Matthew to serve in Camden alongside our brothers and sisters of Bridge of Peace and Cross Roads. Together we can make a little difference to children who live in a city overrun with violence, drugs and despair. I suspect that all involved will also be touched and shaped by God’s love and hope that we’ll witness in the hearts and lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ who live there.
“In Christ, Pastor Ingrid F. Wengert
