I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to gather around the table of the Lord—one thing that was causing me so much sadness was having the interim end without having been able to celebrate communion again with everyone. I used a communion set I purchased at the Home of Martha and Mary in Jerusalem in 1994—my name is Margaret Mary Martha! So it was a very meaningful night for me and very healing. So we communed Presbyterian style—had everyone take their wafer out and I said the words, “The body of Christ” and then had them open the grape juice and said the words, “The blood of Christ.” Everyone was very good about social distancing and wearing a mask and so happy to see each other. It was a wonderful experience and so appreciated by our flock—59 folks is a lot!
