For upcoming Continuing Education sessions, we in Stephen Ministry will discuss the major themes in David Brook’s recent book, How To Know A Person (the Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen).
Stephen Ministers are emphatically trained to listen attentively to another person. David Brooks believes “the skill of letting others feel valued, heard, and understood lies at the heart of any healthy person, family, school, community organization, or society.”
It will be fascinating to discuss his well-researched views on achieving human connection in the light of Stephen Ministry’s mission to offer emotional and spiritual support to care receivers as they work through difficulties.
