Stephen Ministry

Help Needed

With all the stress of COVID and other issues, we have had more requests for Care Givers than usual for Stephen Ministry. In particular there is a growing need for male Stephen Ministers. Recently we have had to reach out to other SM congregations for male Care Givers.

As a Stephen Minister you have the honor of walking with a brother or sister in Christ as they deal with challenges in their lives. Christ is the source of our hope and healing that you as a Care Giver offer your Care Receivers.

You might not have had time in the past to serve in this way, but maybe now you do! Please contact Sue Kuhn with your questions.

And…lift serving as a Stephen Minister up to God in your prayers for guidance.

What is a Stephen Minister?

Learn more about what Stephen Ministers are and do in this brochure from a Stephen Ministry church in Virginia.

Stephen Ministers are lay congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.

Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life, but they all share a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need.

Since 1975, more than 600,000 people from more than 13,000 congregations and other organizations have been trained as Stephen Ministers.
