Save the Date! Sunday, June 5th: Semi-Annual Meeting

The June Semi-Annual Congregation Meeting will be held following the worship service on June 5th. The Order of Business includes:

  • Annual Reports from all the ministries/committees
  • Election of new Congregation Council members
  • and a very important update on our Facility Planning projects.

At the April Congregation Council meeting the Council approved the creation of an Accessibility Steering Committee. This committee will be delivering a presentation at the June Semi-Annual meeting which will reveal the budget cost estimates for the three related accessibility projects below:

  • 1a. Relocate the Sacristy to the foyer level
  • Construct two (2) single user toilet rooms at the foyer level
  • Install a wheelchair lift for access from the foyer level into the Gymnasium building

You don’t want to miss this meeting! This is the beginning of something big, a whole new vision for our church and church family. This is the beginning of the journey towards a vision where all God’s children who enter St. Matthew will one day have full, safe and comfortable access to all areas of our church campus and it’s many ministries and activities.

I also want to take this opportunity to inform you that after having served four years on the Congregation Council, with three of those years as the Council president, I have resigned effective end of the June 2016 Congregation Council meeting. Alice and I both plan to remain very active in the life of this wonderful church. I have volunteered to serve as the chairperson for the Accessibility Steering Committee mentioned above. At the Semi-Annual Meeting we will be announcing the names of those who will be serving with me on this new committee.
