Online: You cannot register online in New Jersey.
By mail: Oct. 18
In person: Oct. 18
To register in New Jersey you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • At least 17 years old, and understand that you may not vote until you reach 18.
  • A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
  • You are not currently serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction

To receive your official ballot by mail, you must fill out an application by these deadlines:

  • Via mail: must be received by County Clerk 11/1.
  • In person: County Clerk’s office by 3:00 p.m. 11/7.
  • County Clerk cannot accept faxed or emailed copies unless you are a Military or Overseas Voter, since an original signature is required.
