Facilities & Worship Updates
An update on our Narthex Enhancement Project and transitions within our worship leadership team.
Narthex Project Complete
We’re pleased to share that this phase of our Narthex update is now complete. These changes were designed to make the space more functional, welcoming, and supportive of fellowship, helping our gathering space feel more open and intuitive.
What’s Been Completed
- Mailbox Relocation: Moved to the hallway outside the church office to reflect our current needs.
- Refreshment Station: Custom cabinetry for coffee and snacks to encourage lingering conversation.
- Hospitality Tables: Three 30-inch round tables positioned for easy fellowship with refreshments.
- Sign‑Up Station: A centralized hub for volunteer opportunities and event registrations.
- Bulletin Boards: Reorganized for a cohesive information hub, including a weekly whiteboard.
Why These Changes Matter
These updates were guided by our shared values of hospitality and community. By reducing congestion and establishes consistent locations for key functions, we’ve created a smoother experience for members and visitors alike, beautifully integrating with our new addition.

Worship Notes
JoAnn and Dennis Lawrence have stepped down from the Worship Committee and the Altar Guild after many years of dedicated service. We offer our sincere thanks to them for their commitment to the worship life of St. Matthew.

A Special Thank You
Thank you to Kathy and Barry Grahn for their generous donation of new doves for our Christmas wreaths. The old ones were starting to turn yellow and fall apart; we look forward to using these fresh replacements next Christmas!
