One of my responsibilities as Vice President of Council is to chair the Mutual Ministry Committee. You may be asking, “What is Mutual Ministry?” According to our constitution, the purpose of Mutual Ministry is to further the mission of the congregation by affirming and strengthening the ministry of the staff. All church staff should have a church minister.
Following are the Mutual Ministers and the Staff they support:
- Kris Burns – Mary VanOsten
- Faith Steinforth – Pastor Eric
- Tom Campbell – Dave Rulon
- Ethan Geehr – Dave Harp
- Michelle Arnold – Cosantino Spinoza
In the upcoming months we will implement recommendations made by the Audit Committee. This may impact some job descriptions and responsibilities that have already changed and require revision. We will also create a process to track vacation and sick time taken and accrued. Mutual Ministers will help implement this process once it is defined. Terms for mutual ministers are three years, and should not exceed two consecutive terms. If you would like to participate in this vital ministry, please contact Denise Cole.
