This article is a first in a series to Saint Matthew’s members to inform and encourage greater awareness of your Saint Matthew Memorial Fund. While your endowment is managed as a separate account from the general church account, the Saint Mat-thew Memorial Fund exists to support present and future programs over and above those provided by our regular annual budget. We are working on clarifying, strengthening and communicating the path donations take that are contributed on behalf of members who have passed and when Saint Matthew is included in an estate plan/will – but know that many church & synod ministries, outreaches and need-ed church items are supported by YOUR Saint Matthew Memorial Fund.
In the months to come, we will explore the footprint we all wish to leave behind, what is God’s Will for us in creating a greater purpose and legacy and who would be a better custodian for a bequest than your church family? We will clarify the Memorial Fund process and explain the uses of funds in the pre-sent and past years. We hope you will enjoy these series of articles and it will create questions and opportunities to remember Saint Matthew’s Memorial Fund in your legacy planning. Please contact any committee member with feedback: Bruce Arruda, Mary Beckett, Joel Boehmler, Judy Jochumsen and John Terpak.
