Allelujah! We were gifted a beautiful day for the blessing of the pollinator garden on the 5th anniversary of its installation, and in celebration of the 52nd Earth Day.
Many thanks to those who joined us to bless the garden, learn more about the native plants that inhabit it, and make a generous donation in support of the Pinelands Preservation Alliance. (Learn more about the work of the Pinelands Preservation Alliance in protecting and preserving this vital ecosystem in our region.)
We were thrilled with being able to give out so many native plants that will enrich our congregants’ gardens. Also a sincere expression of our gratitude to the Elbersons for their steadfast care of the garden, to the young ladies who volunteered at the table, and to Mary VanOsten and Dave Rulon for helping us prepare for the event!
Also, please be on the lookout for our annual summer gleaning evening with our local mission partner, New Jersey Farmers Against Hunger.
We welcome all congregants to volunteer for an upcoming Green Team event, or to join us at one of our virtual monthly meetings, held the first Monday of the month (Ministry night). If you are interested, please contact me. Also check out our website, and follow the SMLC Facebook page.
