Give the Gift of Life: Red Cross Blood Drive at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church

Saint Matthew Lutheran Church invites the community to roll up their sleeves and make a lifesaving difference at the upcoming American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, May 13, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The event will be held in the church fellowship hall at 318 Chester Avenue, Moorestown, NJ.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood—for surgeries, cancer treatments, traumatic injuries, or chronic conditions. Yet only 3% of eligible donors give each year. A single donation can save up to three lives, making this a simple yet profound way to serve others.

How to Help:

  • Schedule an Appointment: Visit RedCrossBlood.org, or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments ensure a smooth process.
  • Prepare: Eat iron-rich foods, hydrate, and bring a photo ID. First-time donors are encouraged!
  • Spread the Word: Share this opportunity with friends, family, and coworkers.

Why Donate?

  • Local Impact: Blood shortages affect hospitals nationwide, including our area.
  • Community Unity: Together, we can meet the critical need.
  • Free Health Check: Donors receive a mini wellness screening (pulse, blood pressure, etc.).

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” —1 John 4:10-11
