Farmer’s Against Hunger Packing Event 11/22 5-7:30pm

It’s hard to believe another fall season is upon us, and with its arrival were excited to once again invite you to join St. Matthew Lutheran Church and our local mission partner, New Jersey Farmers Against Hunger, for the annual Thanksgiving Packing Event, which will be held on Friday, November 22nd from 5:00 to 7:30 pm (for those coming from work and school the start time is flexible, please try to arrive by approximately 5:30 pm).

We will be packing farm-fresh produce for distribution to local families in need for the holiday, including the Bridge of Peace Church in Camden, NJ. This is a great service project for all ages, including families, seniors, those in need of community service hours, and confirmands/mentors.

The event will be held at the Land Stewardship Center at Laurel Run Park, 173 Creek Road, Delran, NJ 08075. We will plan to meet directly at the venue.

Since the event will be held on Friday evening, we also invite all volunteers to stay for a pizza party afterwards. We recommend wearing warm layers and gloves because we will be packing outside, and please consider bringing a reusable beverage container.

Space is limited, so please RSVP to Brian Lestini with the names of all who will be joining your party, and please also provide a contact number in case of any last-minute changes. Finally, please feel free to invite a friend, family member, colleague, or member of your congregation! RSVP’s are requested by Sunday, November 10th so that we can get an accurate headcount.

A fyer with additional details is in the narthex. Sunday school coordinators, youth group leaders, and ministry chairs, please feel free to share this flyer and information with your families and members. For additional questions, contact Brian Lestini.
