EVANGELISM

In 1962 Yevonne Baker wrote the music and lyrics to a pop song entitled “Let Me In.” The Sensations recorded the catchy tune, and in that year, it made it to Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles Chart. In the song, The Sensations repeatedly ask the listener to “Open Up.” Why mention this tune in our August 2020 issue of the Messenger? Well, we would like you to “open up” your emails and click onto the church’s newsletter and E-blasts.

During this time, our hard-working church staff communicates important and timely information to all of us via email. Many of us are not receiving that information. Some of us have given up on email, in favor of texting, however, with our church building closed, email has once more become a vital communication tool. Kim shared some statistics with our Evangelism Committee:

  • The July Messenger E-blast was sent to 319 members and friends; 132 opened up.
  • A weekly E-blast was sent to 236 members; 126 opened up.

So, kindly give two things a try this month. First, take a few moments to open up those informative E-blasts. Second, give a listen to “Let Me In Whee-ooh!,” it just might brighten your day.
