The New Jersey Synod ELCA Anti-Racism Team is hosting an event on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 7-9 PM on Zoom. This event aims to help participants navigate difficult conversations about racism. The organizers believe that real conversations can lead to real change. The focus will be on truth, understanding, and problem-solving, ultimately inspiring individual and cooperative activism. The goal is to move beyond simply being “not racist” and explore how to actively combat racism. The event will be co-created with Kyle Williams of alongtalk.com. Register online.
Following the Zoom event, St. Matthew’s DEI/Anti-racism team will host a local discussion on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 11:45 AM in the library. This will take place immediately after the 10:30 AM worship service. Refreshments will be provided. This gathering offers an opportunity to delve deeper into the topic of racism with a local focus. For more information, contact Patricia Covington or Barbara Duffy. The overall theme is “Live the Love,” emphasizing embracing all members of the community.
