How are other parents holding up these days?
For those with children in school, hang in there. Even more, for you who are students, hang in there! It has certainly been a year full of one challenge after another. For us, getting settled into a new school district has had its ups and downs, to put it mildly. One son’s grades have gone way up with online schooling, while the others have suffered a bit. There is no one response, as each person is so different.
We’ve been working with each and their school to figure out how to get the best out of them. It takes great flexibility on everyone’s part to make things work, tiring as it may be. Meanwhile, we are all trying to find ways for both of them to connect with others their age when they can’t meet anyone in person. Before we moved here Dante was active in Civil Air Patrol and Cade in Sea Cadets, and thankfully they have joined local units of those groups here. Both groups are only meeting virtually these days, but it is a good start to getting involved with good organizations. I hope others working to find ways to stay involved are finding connections, too!
