An amended St. Matthew Constitution will require the congregation’s vote at the Congregation Meeting, September 27, 11am via Zoom.
- All of the changes, which were mandated at the 2019 ELCA Church-wide Assembly, pertain only to language, with no effect on governance.
- Regardless, a congregation must accept any changes to the ELCA’s Model Constitution for Congregations to remain in the ELCA.
- Also up for vote is a revised bylaw. In bylaw C10.01.01, the February congregation meeting will be designated the Annual Meeting.
- Copies of the documents, which were distributed previously to members, are available from the church office.
