Oct. 10 – Letter Writing Day

When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone? Perhaps it was recently, perhaps it has been many years. Few things are more meaningful than a hand-written letter. As a form of reaching out and serving others, we invite congregation members to write letters during the activity time this week. Paper, envelopes, pens, and addresses will be provided to write letters to our homebound members, college students, as well as to others outside our congregation. Enjoy fellowship time while writing your letters together.

Oct. 17 – Intergenerational Activity

Black Lutheran Leaders As we move towards Reformation Day and remembering the heritage of the Lutheran tradition of Christianity, we are also supporting the Jehu Jones mission this year. Jehu Jones was the first Black Lutheran pastor. Learn more about him, as well as some of the other notable Black leaders within Lutheranism in the United States. Adults, youth, and children welcome.

Oct. 24 – Intergenerational Activity: Coral Reefs

Dante Trozzo will share stories and photos from his diving experiences. He has made 60 dives exploring coral reefs in Malaysia, and will be sharing from his extensive diving photography. He will talk about helping with attempts to restore reef ecosystems as well as the marine life he has encountered diving in the South China Sea and well as from Sipadan in the Celebes Sea, one of the great dive sites in the world. Adults, youth, and children welcome.

Oct. 31 – Meet the Confirmands

We will be celebrating with several of our youth as they affirm their baptism this Reformation Day. Get to know them better after the service. Each will have a chance to say a few things about themselves, and then there will be time to converse with them.
