Sunday School Notes
2022 is quickly coming to a close.
CLF invites all members to gather in the Sanctuary on Sunday, December 18th at 9:30 for the return of our annual Christmas pageant. If your child is interest in participating, please contact Costantino at families@stmatthew-lutheran.org. This will be the last Sunday School gathering for 2022. We will resume Sunday School on Sunday, January 8th, 2023.
The Christian Formation Time offerings (Adult Forum, Sunday School) support our mission partners NJ Farmers Against Hunger and Young Adults in Global Mission. We encourage you to send in offerings with your children. If your family needs envelopes, please ask a Sunday School leader
Finally, as winter approaches, it is important to note that in the case of inclement weather, your child’s Sunday School teacher may contact you via email to cancel Sunday School activities for that day.
Christmas Giving Tree
On November 13th during Christian Formation time, our Sunday School students decorated the tags for the Christmas Giving tree. This service project benefits children receiving a variety of services from Oaks Integrated Care in Westhampton.
Oaks Integrated Care was founded 50 years ago by a group of volunteers, and has grown into a private, nonprofit organization that impacts up to 34,000 lives a year! They are dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families struggling with mental illness, addiction or developmental disabilities. The organization offers over 230 health and social service programs throughout 19 counties in New Jersey. The ultimate goal of Oaks Integrated Care is designed to meet the needs of our communities with compassion; let’s continue the tradition of Saint Matthew supporting this mission.
Please consider taking a tag with a child’s name, age, and wish list from the tree in the narthex. It is also asked that if you choose a child that is requesting a clothing or footwear item, that you provide a gift receipt. Please return all gifts by 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, December 11th.
