Thanksgiving Greetings from CLF!
We are so grateful to Cross Roads Retreat Center and Luther Crest Bible Camp (MN) for hosting our virtual Sunday School! We hope that your children are enjoying the discussions, puppet shows, bible stories, activities, and the outdoor challenges each week. We are so happy to see so many Saint Matthew children on the Zoom call each week! And though we are about halfway through the 10-week program (this program ends November 29th), your child can still register to participate – reach out to me at fickes8@gmail.com for information. CLF also wants to extend our gratitude to Peggy Marks and Lisa Merrill for volunteering to be substitute teachers, and to Aurelia Harp, Sophia Meany, and Dante Trozzo for reaching out and volunteering to be virtual classroom aides – your presence has been so appreciated.
The 3rd grade Bible workshop and presentation went well. All gathered in Fellowship Hall as Pastor Eric and Deacon Bill shared information about the Bible, its contents and how to find specific books, chapters and verses. The kids were impressed with some of those unique names of the Old Testament. It was meaningful to carry on this tradition in the midst of the pandemic. Judging from the smiles on their faces, one could see the children were pleased with their personalized Bibles. The Bibles were presented to: Brien Campbell, Jillian Cole, Gavin Cooper, Jake DePersia, Katelyn Frable, Nathan Frable, Anne MacFarland, Ashley Moore, Joseph Stapleton, Jackie Sweet IV, Dante Trozzo and Caedmon Trozzo.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, Twin Oaks Integrated Care will not be hosting its’ annual gift drive this year. What they are doing is finding sponsors for their youth residential homes as well as families who would otherwise not be able to celebrate the holidays without our support. They are working on the details for the sponsors and will keep Saint Matthew updated; so please keep your eye out for this information to come via the weekly E-blast or via email.
Please remain vigilant and safe as we celebrate this time of Thanks.
God Bless,
Melissa Feeney,CLF Chair
