Dear Members of St. Matthew,
At Monday’s meeting, your Council voted to engage The Reverend Peggy Marks as our Pastor for the next part of our Interim. It was a unanimous vote. She will start on Sunday, December 1st.
Pastor Marks is a member of our congregation and a Stephen Ministry Leader. She has 35 years experience as an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament. She has served as called Pastor to churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Jersey. This will be her fourth engagement as an Interim Pastor.
Pastor Peggy discussed with Council plans that affect her schedule in December, as she will be in Europe with her family for Christmas, and thus will not lead us on Christmas Eve. The Worship Committee is already working on an alternate leader. She also has plans to be away in March and she will be arranging for someone to fill in that month.
For the remainder of November, we will welcome back The Reverend Carl Joecks to lead Sunday worship.
While December 1st and the official welcome for Pastor Peggy is several weeks away, feel free to give her a warm welcome whenever you see her.
Yours in Christ,
John O’Meara, president
