Dear Fellow Members of Saint Matthew:
The Congregation Council moved on November 18 to recommend that the congregation approve the adoption of the newest amendments to the ELCA’s model constitution for inclusion in our constitution at Congregation Meeting on February 9.
Council also moved to recommend the approval of one new bylaw.
We are making the amendments and bylaw available to you, along with a third document that allows you to see what amendments would change in our constitution.
Please take the time to review these documents* before the congregation meeting. The Congregation Council seeks your approval. Per the constitution, the documents will be approved as is, or not approved. Changes cannot be made at this point, but your questions are encouraged and will be welcomed.
