We need your help!!
As we approach the 6th anniversary of the Green Team at St. Matthew, we hope that we have helped demonstrate the many joyous ways that our congregation can fulfill our calling to become better stewards of God’s creation. However, we are at a “mission-critical” point in our ministry, where we simply do not have enough hands to help plan and organize the events that, we believe, enrich our church life through service of God in creation.
If you have a passion for nature and our environment, please consider giving a very small portion of your time and talents to help us further our mission “to reveal the connection of our congregation and community to God’s presence in the natural world, by fostering a culture of environmental reflection, engagement and stewardship.”
Specifically, we are looking for a few volunteers to help organize two events this spring:
- The annual congregational Earth Day celebration that will be held this year on Sunday, April 23.
- A late spring/early summer gleaning event with our local mission partner NJ Farmers Against Hunger.
You do not need to be an expert in order to help us with these events! If you have the interest and a few minutes to spare, please contact me (brianlestini@yahoo.com), and we can discuss specifically what’s needed. Our current team of four will be forever grateful!
