Lenten Vesper Pulpit Exchange

Lenten Vespers at St. Matthew are held on Wednesdays in Lent from 7:30 – 8pm, beginning March 8th. This year’s theme is: Standing Together Under the Cross.

Because 2017 is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, Lutherans and Roman Catholics are joining together in different ways to celebrate the gospel.

I’m delighted to let you know that St. Matthew and Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) will join this spirit by having a pulpit exchange during two weeknight Lenten worship services. My husband, Tim Wengert, will also facilitate a brief conversation on the national Lutheran-Catholic dialogue as part of the evening’s gathering at OLGC, as he serves on the U.S. Lutheran-Catholic Dialogue committee.

Lutheran and Catholic brothers & sisters are encouraged to attend both worship services.
