Weekly Devotions for November 25, 2025

I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you[b] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:3-6 (CSB)

As we enter the week of Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to be thankful for you. I am thankful for those of you seeking to live faithfully and lovingly in response to the love we have received from God through Christ. You show that desire to be faithful in so many ways, including taking the time to read these weekly devotions that seek to notice God around us. Your faithfulness is one of the ways I see God at work around me each and every day, each and every week. You also show faithfulness through the time you offer in making the functions of the church run. That is no easy task. As I remind all of our staff at St. Matthew, the role of staff is to enable the people of the congregation to live out the ministries they are called to, and I am thankful for the ways you respond to that call. I am also thankful for the ways that you seek to be faithful in serving the needs of the world in Christ’s name. In this past week, as a congregation that desire to serve has helped to feed an incredible number of hungry people. Through assisting with the Ministerium Food Pantry, taking part in the Farmers Against Hunger packing event, and through the Bridge of Peace Thanksgiving bags, an immense amount of food has been directed to those who need it through you this past week.

For all of these ways that you respond in faith, I give thanks to God for you.
heck back next week for a devotion.
