The Bishop has appointed Pastor Peggy Marks as a part time Vice Pastor on an interim basis as we begin the call process for a full time Pastor. As a part time pastor, she will be in the office a couple times a week working closely with Sarah and the worship committee. There is also an allowance for part time pastors to have one Sunday a month off. I hope you will welcome Pastor Peggy back as our shepherd. Our congregational council feels blessed that both Pastor Peggy and the Bishop felt this was the best choice to help St. Matthew during this time of transition.
Thank you to all that come to wish Godspeed to Pastor Eric and the Trozzo family Sunday. Please remember that we can be grateful for all that Pastor has given to us individually and as a church, while respecting the need for him to separate from SMLC at this time. Please reach out to Pastor Peggy, or any council member with congregational needs or questions. This will help us be open to new relationships, especially being intentional about our prayerful consideration for our next Pastor to be called. Pastor Brown, assistant to the Bishop said the spirit is stretching us. I know that St. Matthew is blessed to have a congregational filled with people of many gifts. I know that we will continue to support each other in God’s love.
Our Minister of Communication, Mary VanOsten, has decided that her time with St. Matthew will come to an end on July 17. We are grateful for all that Mary has contributed to our church, its members and programs. Please be sure to stop by the office to say thank you and wish her the best in her future endeavors!
Our Mutual Ministry group, led by council Vice President Ethan Geehr will be conducting the search for new office personnel.
