Scouting for Food
As part of the national “Scouting for Food” program, local scouts from Packs/Troops 61 and 76 delivered Hundreds of Bags to the Moorestown Ministerium Food Pantry which is housed in Saint Matthew Lutheran Church.
Over the weekend of Nov. 15-16, boys and girls in Scouting America’s Cub Scouts (K-5th grade) and Scouts BSA (6-12 grade) programs collected, transported, and unloaded special green bags FULL of food and sundries.
Thankfully the Cole and Frable families were able to help Chris Cassel sort and shelve the flood of food as it was arriving, because the MMFP room was overwhelmed by the abundance of generosity…the bags literally overflowed the room, into the hallway.

NJ Farmers Against Hunger
We once again had a remarkable response to our annual Thanksgiving packing event supporting local mission partner New Jersey Farmers Against Hunger, in collaboration with volunteers from the GreenFaith Circle of Southern NJ.
We welcomed and would like to sincerely thank all congregation members, as well as neighbors from our local communities, who came out to help pack several hundred bags of produce for food insecure families, including for Bridge of Peace in Camden.
A Call to Serve
Nearly 1 in 7 New Jerseyans, including 1 in 11 children, live in fear of not having enough to eat. At a time of great and increasing need, we are so grateful to our volunteers and to Farmers Against Hunger for your hands in delivering God’s work.
In 2026, please consider what resolution you can make to “Live the Love” and participate in the care of God’s creation in the New Year.
