Advent Musical Programs & Fellowship

christmas-partyOWLS Christmas Party Thurs., Dec. 5, Noon. The OWLS will gather for their Annual Holiday Luncheon in Fellowship Hall. Again this year, Georgetti’s Market and Catering in Cinnaminson will be supplying the main course of baked ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans with garlic/oil, Caesar salad, and bread & butter. Appetizers, desserts, and the famous punches will be supplied by the committee. A charge of $10 per person will be collected at the door. Happily, Pat Hall will again provide piano accompaniment for our singing of traditional Christmas carols. As always, a collection will be taken for two or three charities to be selected during the luncheon. Please sign-up on the attendance sheets pinned to the bulletin board to help the committee determine the number of dinners to be ordered. For more info, see Sue Kuhn. Stories for the Ladies All women are invited to the WELCA Morning Circle Friday, Dec. 12, 10am in the Shockey Lounge “Once Upon a Time…” (Even more stories of Christmas) As told and read by Rozella Bower. Afterwards for Lunch at The Madison in Riverside. Advent Concert ~ Sunday, Dec. 14, 4pm Theme: “A Child, A Son, The Prince of Peace for Me” WANTED: Decorators, Greens & Holly Decorators are needed for the Christmas season—all helping hands will be welcomed on Saturday, Dec. 20, 9am. Greens and holly are also needed. Please contact Lynne Ganskopp, 856.234.2458to make arrangements for getting the greens/holly to church. Children’s Christmas Program ~ Sunday, Dec. 21, 9:45am Presented by the Sunday School Children (ages 3 yrs. old through 8th Grade) to be held in Fellowship Hall.


Advent / Christmas Collections & Outreach Opportunities

Camden Kids Christmas Party Tuesday, Dec. 9, 6:30pm Once more we invite our friends from Camden from Bridge of Peace and Christus Academy to join us for dinner and fun. There are jobs to do to get ready. Mostly setting up for dinner and the book room; we will not need books since we were snowed out twice last year. For information, call or email Mae Trebing. The Giving Tree for Twin Oaks Community Services You can take a tag from the tree. All wrapped gifts will be picked up on Sunday, Dec. 14, after the 11am service. Thank you for making a happy Christmas for 80 children. Bridge of Peace Youth Group: Casseroles & Salad Needed Dec. 14 Bridge of Peace holds youth group meetings on Tuesday nights. It begins with a casserole dinner and salad. We are asking for only the ingredients to make Baked Ziti, along with salad, beverages, and Christmas cookies for dessert. The ingredients needed to prepare this meal are:
  • Ziti Pasta
  • 32 oz. tubs of Ricotta Cheese
  • Beverages:  Chocolate milk, water & apple juice
  • Tomato Sauce (jars)
  • 16 oz. Shredded Mozzerella
  •  Christmas Cookies
