A special thank you to our St. Matthew Congregation members, the GreenFaith Circle of Southern New Jersey, and the community groups and members who volunteered to make this year’s New Jersey Farmers Against Hunger Thanksgiving packing event a huge success.
By the numbers:
- 1 in 7 – the number of New Jerseyans who experience food insecurity.
- 1 in 3 – the number of pieces of food that are wasted.
- 11% – the global contribution of agriculture to planet-warming emissions.
- 64 – the approximate number of volunteers who helped pack bags at this year’s event.
- 3,500 – the number of farm-fresh produce bags packed by our volunteers for distribution to families in need this holiday, including 75 bags delivered to our Mission Partner Bridge of Peace in Camden.
2024 Thanksgiving Food Drive provided over 80 meals
More than 75 bags of dinners and gift cards.
Notes: More than 80 meals were donated. More than 75 bags of fresh groceries were packed for BOP on Friday night. In total, our volunteers helped pack some 3000 bags of fresh locally-grown produce for area families.
