September Adult Forum Schedule

Join us on Sunday Mornings at 9:45am. Here’s what we have lined up for September:

9/16 “O Come! Let Us Worship the Lord!”

Led by Timothy Wengert The single-most important event in which Christians regularly participate is worship. Understanding the heart of Lutheran worship helps us appreciate more what we do, why we do it, and what set Lutheran worship apart from other forms of Christianity. Our worship revolves around three of the most important “solas” of the Reformation: “solo Verbo” (by the Word alone), “sola gratia” (by grace alone), “sola fide” (by faith alone)—all summarized by a fourth: “solus Christus” (Christ alone). As one Lutheran liturgical scholar put it, Lutheran worship has both a clear center and permeable boundaries.

9/23 “Youth Ministries: Summer Recap & Fall Forward”

Youth & adults will share their experiences of youth ministries this summer, including the ELCA Youth Gathering, Bosnia International Servant Trip, Cross Roads VBS Day Camp and Cross Roads Camp. Also, get a glimpse into what the youth will experience this fall.

9/30 “Learning more about welcoming children with Autism into worship”

Led by Pastor Wengert Learn what to expect in terms of particular behaviors of our youth, and what is helpful and possibly not helpful in response to different scenarios.
