Natural Area Care Outing & Nature Walk

Volunteers needed – Natural Area Care Outing & Nature Walk with Save the Environment of Moorestown (STEM) Saturday Sept. 8th at 9:30 AM

One of STEM’s main activities involves the rich tradition of caring for Moorestown’s open spaces with Second Saturday and selected other conservation projects from March through November. Natural Area Care is part of an ongoing program to encourage residents to become stewards of the community’s open spaces.

When STEM volunteers meet at one of the NAC open space conservation project sites, their chief task is usually to remove invasive plant species, clear trails, and pick up litter, at the direction of the site leader. Families are most welcome. Younger children enjoy scouring the trails for bottles, cans and other trash. Participants should wear protective clothing and gloves to guard against poison ivy and thorns.

Check the NAC calendar for a list of conservation projects. It will be updated soon for 2018. For additional information regarding a particular site or NAC event please contact the appropriate site leader.
