Our congregation will be collecting healthful, packaged snacks, such as granola bars, for the ExCELS after school program. Donations will be accepted over the course of three Sundays. When shopping for the snacks, warehouse stores i.e. Costco offer large quantities at reasonable prices.
On Jan. 6, look for the ExCELS kids poster in the foyer. Directly below the poster will be a collection container. Collection will continue through Jan. 20th. On Jan. 21st, I will deliver the collected snacks along with fresh apples to the Moorestown Recreation department. The food is made available to children who, for various reasons, have not been provided after school snacks from home. Our delivery date happens to be Martin Luther King Day, a day of service.
