Another fun VBS with about 25 volunteers and about 28 children from our community. The happy smiles can be seen in pictures on our website, Facebook and on the foyer monitor. About 45 family members and friends attended the final celebration with the children singing, receiving certificates and enjoying some homemade treats. Thank you to our new Youth & Family Chair, Dennis Lawrence and JoAnn for visiting with us.
Almost $200 was collected for Lutheran Disaster Relief for Nepal (located near Mt. Everest) and the table for the Food Pantry was overflowing with donated food.
The children learned that God provides, heals, comforts, forgives and loves. They know they can “Conquer Challenges with God’s Mighty Power” and they will remember to turn to God in all things. The volunteers and all of us here are reminded of God’s strength and power:
“…and even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare your strength to this generation, your power to all who are to come…” —Jeremiah 71:18
