Back by Popular Demand: “SUNDAY UNDIES”
Many impoverished children and teens go without under garments or have hand-me-downs. Some save their best pair, nicknamed their “Sunday Undies,” for church and doctor visits. What a treat for them to have a best pair to wear every day of the week.
The campaign “SUNDAY UNDIES” will provide newly purchased items and will be distributed at Bridge of Peace Tuesday Youth Group and their Food Pantry. Please donate only new items for children ages 3 years – 18 years.
Beginning August 19, please choose a gift tag from the BOP bulletin board located in the foyer next to the mailboxes. Each tag has a gender and size. Please place donations (with the gift tag securely attached) in the bin provided under the BOP bulletin board by September 16th. Some suggestions:
Male Items
- briefs
- boxers and boxer briefs
- undershirts/athletic t-shirts
- winter thermals.
Female Items
- panties/briefs
- boy-shorts
- play shorts
- tank/ camisoles
- sports bras
- winter thermals
- Also a need for bras: when you see a sale or a clearance item please purchase and donate it as it will be a perfect fit for a young woman in need.
Monetary donations are also accepted; checks payable to St. Matthew with “Sunday Undies” in memo. For more info, contact Lisa Merrill.
