Stephen Ministry

This ministry is part of a program of Christian care-giving begun in St. Louis, MO, which now encompasses more than 7,500 churches world-wide. It combines sound theological principles with contemporary psychology.

Several members have completed a training program to become Stephen Ministers and/or Stephen Leaders. They can be assigned to meet on a one-to-one basis with persons who are in need of a listening ear to help them cope with a problem or situation in their lives. Confidentiality is a key part of the ministry. It is a way of using our spiritual gifts to bring Christ's love to people.

Stephen Ministers are available to the congregation during Holy Communion to offer healing prayers.  They have also been trained as Eucharistic Ministers to bring Holy Communion to those who are ill and/or homebound.
